Nursing Home Visitation
Bro. Elton asked us to visit nursing homes to see residents who do not have many visitors. He wants us to pray with them and to become their friends.
 
I have talked with Castle Pines Nursing Home, Southland Healthcare, Stoneleigh Estates and Parkwood Place. All of their residents wish to be seen by visitors.
 
Southland Healthcares Activity Director said they have a need for volunteers to read to their residents. This should be adults or young children that like to read.
 
It would be good for each person to visit the same resident each time they visit to become acquainted with them and become their friend.
 
This could be just a nice short visit to introduce yourself and your church. You could ask them if they could like for you to pray with them . If they are receptive, then a short prayer for their well being and a restful day would be nice. Just let them know Jesus loves them.
 

 Hospital Surgical Waiting Room

 

Bro. Elton askd us to visit the hospital waiting room to introduce ourselves to the people waiting for loved ones to have surgery. You can explain that you are there because you love them and that you would like to pray for a successful surgery and for their family.

 We need lots of people to make this program successful. It is our goal to have enough people to participate that each person could go once a month. Please encourage all of your friends to come and be a part of this blessing. We encourage Sunday School Classes and church members to be a part of this ministry.
